Our Gravenstein elementary program has been recognized twice as a Distinguished School and received an Honorable Mention in 2006. You can read more about the California Distinguished Schools Award program here:

Exceptional Physical Education Program

Our wonderful PE teacher, Simon Lewis, was named as the
best physical education teacher in the North Bay by the San Francisco Chronicle.
"It's not just that he gets the kids playing rugby and cricket, or that the Hillcrest student body is rated 96 percent fit (compared with about 50 percent when he came on board) -- Lewis cares, and the kids know it."
