The Gravenstein school district boasts one of the finest elementary music and performing arts programs in Sonoma County. This year promises to be even better!
Gravenstein's exemplary program is headed by David Fichera. Mr. Fichera has taught at Sonoma State University. He has training and experience in voice, dance and theater.

We offer regular music instruction for every student in grades K-5. So many of our students continue their music instruction that we've created 4th grade and 5th grade bands at Gravenstein Elementary School. Students progressing to Hillcrest Middle School can participate in the 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8th grade band and our Jazz Band.
Mr. Fichera also holds a morning Strings ensemble class at Hillcrest. In addition (whew!), he teaches a music technology class for our acclaimed ENRICH! program.
News Flash!
In 2011, the Hillcrest Marching Band won top honors in Santa Rosa's Rose Parade for the second year in a row. Our drum major also won first place, while our flag team and unit ID team took second place .
